About the Artist
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
“My passion to paint is fueled by the ever-changing beauty of Creation: I crave to raise it on canvas. When I arrive on location to
paint en plein air, first I scout the area for the perfect angle that will satisfy a good composition and excite my right brain. I then set
up and I am ready to begin. At this stage, I quiet myself in order to witness nature’s nuances. Once I feel this magic, I am ready to
express my awe and gratitude to what is unfolding before my eyes. I do so with oil paints and palette knives. My love of working
with palette knives is driven by the expressiveness and textural feel of the work. Also, working in palette knife technique there is
always a bit of surprise as to what my knife will do with the paints – and that can a delightful surprise!”
ARTIST’S BIOGRAPHY
Inka Zamoyska, award winning painter with a rich Polish heritage, began her compelling interest in art in childhood. Influenced by
her mother's artistically accomplished family, Inka took up painting at a very early age. In high school she formally trained in studio
art and after university, despite practicing as a Certified Public Accountant, she continued to develop her skills through ongoing
workshops and classes with nationally and international renowned artists. She is inspired and influenced by the Great Masters and
the Impressionists of France, North America, and Poland. Inka’s work reflects the influences of two cultures ever present in her life,
that of Europe and North America
Inka has exhibited in group and solo shows since l985 and her paintings are part of numerous private and corporate collections in
the U.S., Canada and Europe. As an experienced artist, she was called to serve as curator for a community art space and as a jurist
for various shows and competitions.
Since settling in Southern California she has loved working “en plein air” capturing the unique colors and light of the area. “My soul,
heart and vision are encoded to see artistically. I paint because that is who I am.”
Evolving through many media forms, Inka’s work, today, is represented best in oils using the palette knife technique that has
defined her artistry. Her work encompasses, not only painting on canvas, but also creating murals, teaching and providing
creativity coaching.
STUDIO GALLERY
Inka opened her new studio gallery in La Costa, CA in 2009.
The studio gallery offers an exhibit space for her work and that of other artists as well as a working and teaching studio. Inka’s
